Founder
Neville Jeffress' lifelong association with newspapers and the media commenced when he joined the afternoon Sun Newspaper in Sydney in 1936 as a clerk. On returning from World War II, where he served as Wireless Operator/Air Gunner in the RAAF, he purchased a newsagency in Fairlight, Sydney and commenced a classified advertising service from the rear of the agency.
Neville Jeffress Advertising grew into the largest Australian owned advertising agency with offices across Australia and in New York and London. When it was sold in 1996 to TMP, Neville Jeffress Advertising placed the greatest number of classified advertisements in the world. Neville Jeffress, as Chairman of Media Monitors, turned his attention to building his second market leading company and remained a driving force in the company for the next nine years.
Mr Jeffress was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia in January 2006 for services to advertising and media and to the community. Mr Jeffress passed away following a brief illness in September, 2007.

Mr Brenchley made significant contributions to Media Monitors’ business since his appointment to the Board in 2008, following his more than four decades of experience in both the editorial and business sides of the media.
As a former editor of the AFR and eventually general manager of the Sydney newspaper operations of the John Fairfax newspaper group, Mr Brenchley was one of the most respected figures in Australian journalism and is described as energetic, highly competitive, and with a lifelong passion for journalism.
Mr Brenchley also co-authored three World War 1 books with his wife, Elizabeth, and wrote a biography of former Australian Competition & Consumer Commission chairman Allan Fels. Until his last days, he co-authored a regular column on competition issues with Allan Fels for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, Melbourne.
